Its crepe paper backing and medium-tack natural rubber adhesive help keep separate design elements together during positioning and installation. How to Choose the Right Transfer Tape
Match the Vinyl and Graphic Details
Select tack based on the vinyl finish, liner release and smallest graphic elements. The tape should lift the complete design without making it difficult to release onto the final surface. Higher tack is not always better.
Check Positioning Needs
Paper transfer tape holds graphic elements together during application. For work requiring visibility through the tape, such as multi-colour registration, consider a clear transfer tape.
Confirm Your Production Process
Choose a roll width that covers the design with minimal joining. If graphics will be stored or transported with the transfer tape attached, confirm suitability for the expected holding time and conditions before production.
How to Use Crepe Paper Transfer Tape
- Cut and weed the vinyl design, leaving it on its release liner.
- Apply transfer tape over the graphic and press evenly with a squeegee.
- Slowly separate the release liner, checking that all elements remain on the tape.
- Position the graphic on a clean, dry surface compatible with the vinyl adhesive.
- Squeegee firmly to establish contact between the vinyl and the surface.
- Peel the transfer tape back slowly at a low angle. If any vinyl lifts, stop and press it down again before continuing.
